I photographed Dilham Hall Retreats to capture more than just the accommodation — I wanted to show the feeling of being there. Set beside the water in the Norfolk Broads, Dilham Hall is a place where the landscape and the experience of staying there are inseparable.
From the glamping pods and their interiors to the surrounding waterways, gardens and open countryside, I wanted the photographs to tell the story of a stay from different perspectives. The aim was to show both the comfort and character of the accommodation and the sense of escape that comes from stepping outside and into the landscape.
I moved between wider images that place the accommodation within its surroundings and more intimate details that reveal the atmosphere of the retreats — from interiors and outdoor spaces to the water, vegetation and small moments that make the experience feel personal.
My aim was to create natural, atmospheric images that give a sense of what it feels like to stay at Dilham Hall — not simply what it looks like, but the feeling of slowing down, being close to nature and having the landscape right on your doorstep.
